Nobody can say they don't miss something in their favorite tv-series. So I thought, what would I've liked to see in Babylon 5?

For one, I think, more insight in the alien cultures. Not just religion, but society, biology and politics as well. For instance: Why do the Centauri call their form of government republic, when it is clearly a hereditary monarchy? Or how do the Drazi live?
Interesting would have been how the Minbari reacted, when they were told, humans will join the Rangers. I don't imagine them to be thrilled Rolling Eyes

Another nice thing to see, would have been more interference from the different governments. Not one would stay as silent and lay back as the ones presented in Babylon 5.

Btw: If this is in the wrong section, I apologize. It's quite difficult to decide what to put in General Discussions (which normaly means everything not direclty related to the episodes ) and what in The Episodes

The series has a lot of open questions left, cliffhanger which have never been resolved in the series.

For example the „gift“ Londo has left in the Sheridan´ household or the deal between Michael Garibaldi and Lyta.

And what happend to Lennier? He stood at Delenn`s side all the 5 seasons. After the incident on the way back to Minbar he vanished to nowhere.... .

And what about the Drakh? How did they manage to get this enormous influence on Centauri Prime in the first place?

Most of these and other questions/cliffhanger have been elucidated in novels. I would have prefered seeing these things in the series or a special movie, especially about the left „gift“ in the Sheridan`household.

One other thing I miss is John`s and Delenn`s wedding . We have gone along with their relationship from the first „getting to know each other“, to the „become close level“ to the engagement, rituals and the final step, well, we have been ostracised from this last step.

Yes, the wedding. It feels like we've been betrayed. We saw everthing between them except the one thing that concludes it ... Mad

I don't think it is exactly a bad thing to leave a few things to specualation in a series. So I'm not that disappointed we didn't see all plotlines resolve. After all, this leaves more room for FFs Wink

I remembered something else: Cathrine Sakai's disappearance. There should have been an episode about it or at least been a part of one. Not this one sentence "She disappeared last year." After so many episodes between this and her last visit to Babylon 5, I, at first, thought "Who?". Probably I'm not the only one considering that the "Sinclair-Plot" had been over for some time then.

I think the open-ended parts make it seem more real; you don't always find out everything or get resolution in real life.

Besides, it does leave more room for fic. B5 is so tightly plotted it's hard to do gapfillers. Most of the dangling plotlines were dealt with in the books--as I understand, I haven't read any yet. Or were planned to be dealt with later, like Lyta and Lennier's fates in the telepath war.

From what I've heard I don't really like some of the endings; Marcus' in the short story JMS wrote, or Catherine Sakai's. Still, that's why we write our own endings.
